On March 3rd, 2012, a gang of homophobes in Chile captured Daniel Zamudio and beat and tortured him for several hours. The gangsters burnt him with cigarettes, cut off one of his ears, and attempted to carve the symbol of their movement - the swastika - into his stomach. He was still alive when he was found, and was taken to the hospital. He was placed in an induced coma to stabilize him, and five days later opened his eyes - but a week later a brain injury from the beating gave him a heart attack. He finally died on the 27th.
