Claire Davis

December 21, 2013

Claire was 17 when she was shot in a copycat school shooting. The murderer was fascinated with other neo-Nazi attacks on schools, and apparently sufficiently into the politics to have a swastika screen saver and to stick an '88' in the name he chose for his murder spree.

Before the killing, the murderer wrote in his diary that the shooting was meant to exact revenge for him being teased in elementary school - and that “I will do something I have wanted to do for a while – mass murder and be in a place of power where I and I alone are judge, jury and executioner.”

He also apparently resented his debate coach for stripping him of his coveted role as captain of the debate team.

After killing Claire, the murderer went to the library where he claimed his final victim: the man responsible for his loss of the coveted captaincy: himself.

Now, he has the dubious distinction of being mocked more thoroughly in death than he was in elementary school.
