After an anti-police bombing in Budapest, suspicion fell upon a long-running extremist group. The group, Magyar Nemzetiszocialista Akciósport (renamed Magyar Nemzeti Arcvonal) had been conducting training camps for other European extremists. Apparently there was something in the leader's house that he did not want law enforcement finding, as his reaction to the search was to murder Officer Pálvölgyi and barricade himself in his house.
