Bette Jean Vaughn

August 11, 2019

In the summer of 2019, Bette paid bond to get her son out of jail. Her son, a frequent user of the Arizona Department of Corrections' prison facilities, had cases pending for a bunch of theft and fraud related charges.

In retrospect, perhaps getting a man with swastikas tattooed on his shoulders and friends in the Aryan Brotherhood out of jail wasn't entirely wise. Before dawn on the 11th, while high on meth, her own son stabbed her to death.

But hey, when he pled guilty to 2nd degree murder the prosecutors agreed to drop charges he'd originally been bailed on.
